Central Retail unveils food hall equipped with robots

The robots can assist in check in, answer questions, and help with recommendations.

Central Retail has opened its Central Food Hall in Ladprao in Bangkok, which offers modern innovation and assistant robots, according to a press release.

The food hall has a customer assistant robot called Nong Sukjai, which assists with the Thai Chana check in, takes shoppers to various zones, recommends special promotions and contacts staff, said Sujita Phengoun, Central Food Retail’s COO Large Format.

The food hall is also equipped with Smart Product Sampling Robots, Welcome Lady and Product Ambassador that can answer questions and help in recommending products that best match the customers’ needs.

Highlights of the new format include the Produce zone for fruits and vegetables, Fishmonger for seafood, James the Butcher for meat, The Baker, Ham & Brie for open cheese zone, Wine Story, Central Eatery for international food, C Flavour for street food, Asian Foods, Healthiful for health and wellness, Looks for beauty care, and Petster for pet owners.
