NTUC FairPrice Group has launched a purpose-driven retail and F&B space called Food Folks @ Lau Pa Sat, focussing on supporting home-grown food brands in Singapore, according to a press release.
Set up within the city's Lau Pa Sat, the 7,000 sqft space aims to act as a launchpad for new and established local brands to increase awareness and grow their businesses.
Food Folks is Singapore’s first locally focused “Everything Food” concept space which blends both retail food and F&B under one roof.
The businesses will be supported by marketing and brand storytelling opportunities over the next year, which can be in the form of social media campaigns, product sampling, educational workshops, and events.
Brands can leverage on Food Folks’ partnerships across retail and food businesses, or with other nearby establishments within the central business district such as gyms, hotels, and attractions. Retail brands will also enjoy a waiver of their initial setup fee.
At press time, Food Folks’ retail space is housing more than 800 food-related items by over 120 different brands. Around 70% of these brands are home-grown, and 40% are not commonly found in major supermarkets.
There are also 10 F&B stalls, ranging from local delicacies such as prawn and fishball noodles to American-styled grilled food.
