Esprit appoints Mark David Daley as CEO

The company’s board recently saw a string of resignations.

Hong Kong-based Esprit Holdings has appointed Mark David Daley as its executive director and the president and chief executive officer (CEO) following the resignation of Anders Christian Kristiansen, the beleaguered firm announced in a bourse filing.

Daley was previously the CEO of American-based Billy Reid, where he restructured the business and created a new strategic growth plan for the fashion brand of the award-winning
designer Billy Reid.

From 2016 until 2018, he was the CEO of Augustinus Bader Group, where he teamed with an expert in regenerative medicine to form a company specialising in biotech and consumer goods.

The company’s board saw a wave of resignations since Kristiansen’s resignation as executive director. On 8 January, Marc Andreas Tschirner resigned as an executive director and group COO, whilst Hang-so Liu was picked as an independent non-executive director and a member of the board’s Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

On the day Kristiansen resigned, Johannes Georg Schmidt-Schultes also left as executive director and member of the Risk Management Committee and General Committee, with the position taken over by Christin Chiu.

On 24 December, Raymond Or resigned as the company’s non-executive director and the board’s non-executive chairman, and Carmelo Lee Sandrine Suzanne Eleonore Agar Zerbib left as independent non-executive directors.
