Hong Kong mall hosts multi-brand lipstick exhibition and interactive pop-up

Who knew lipstick could be a tool for creating art? Shopping mall Harbour City recently invited American lipstick artist Alexis Fraser, better known as Lipstick Lex, to hold her first solo exhibition in Hong Kong where she planted over ten thousand kisses to make a new work of art titled Victoria Harbour Sunset.

This is a part of the Sun Kissed Summer – lipstick art exhibition which showcases 22 pieces of Lex's creations, of which more than half is newly created for this exhibition. Her artwork combines the colourful lipstick colours and kiss prints to spread a positive message of love, merriment, beauty and feel-good vibes all around.

The 3m-long Victoria Harbour Sunset (which depicts a sunset scene with a sailboat sailing to Victoria Harbour) is her largest artwork to date -- made by more than ten thousand kiss prints and lipsticks from over 20 brands.

Harbour City is also presenting the first ever Lipstick Tasting Bar which features 34 brands and over 200 shades of lipsticks for customers to try for free. They are invited to play a simple game on Harbour City’s Facebook chatbot or via the onsite digital panel, after which they can try on the desired lip colours according to the outcome of the game.

The exhibition ends on July 22.
