Self-Service: The Next Level Retail Evolution

As the Vice President and Managing Director of Diebold Nixdorf in the Asia Pacific Region, Vipin Kalra takes the lead in growing the retail business for the company. He brings significant global industry experience and an innate understanding of Asia Pacific markets following a 30 years career in banking and finance, and computer hardware and software industry in Australia and Asia Pacific.  

Prior to Diebold Nixdorf, Vipin was the CEO of BankBazaar International, an online marketplace for Financial Services. Before joining BankBazaar, Vipin spent 21 years with Visa Inc, where he was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President at Visa’s Asia Pacific region in 2014 with specific responsibility for developing Visa’s Merchant Sales and Solutions business.  Under Vipin’s leadership, Visa formed very strong alliances across most major retailers in Asia pacific region, including formation of Merchant Advisory Council consisting of ‘CXO’ level participants from some of the largest and most influential retailers across Asia Pacific markets.

Vipin is an Australian Citizen and currently based in Singapore. Vipin is a food & wine enthusiast and loves traveling, cooking and sharing his collection of best wines with friends.  

Matt Redwood is Diebold Nixdorf’s Director of Advance Self-Service within Retail. In this role he is responsible end-to-end for the Retail self-service business globally which includes defining the strategy of the business as well as management and ownership of R&D, Product Management, Sales Specialists and Consultants. 

Matt has more than a decade of experience in sales, consulting and senior management positions, and has executed the delivery of retail technology into multiple tier one retailers globally. His extensive knowledge of the retail industry includes POS, self-service, enterprise mobility as well as future innovation and roadmaps with a high focus on future self-service technologies. With a highly focused value-based approach Matt has driven a culture surrounding the business and consumer benefits technology brings and a delivery model that enables the largest ROI for the retailer. 

Daniel Leung is leading the store technology for A.S. Watson Group with the purpose to put a smile on their customers’ faces.  He focus on bringing in and integrating the right customer facing technology to enhance the connected O+O experience and innovation to stay ahead in the operating retail markets.

Daniel has many years of end to end delivery experience on front and backend applications and technology solutions, together with the related change management for different retail business units in Asia.  He becomes energetic on observing customer behaviour and identify process improvement and technology support on each touch point together with business users.
