Foodpanda expands q-commerce deals

It has now included leading retailers MUJI, IKEA, Lawson, Tesco, and Watsons.

Delivery platform foodpanda has expanded its list of retail partners in Asia, which includes leading retailers MUJI, IKEA, Lawson, Tesco, and Watsons.

Foodpanda shops now hosts almost 25,000 retail stores across 12 markets in Asia. The rollout of shops was accelerated in the first half of 2020, as more consumers relied on home deliveries for food, daily essentials and more, whilst coping with movement restrictions during the pandemic.

“Beyond COVID-19, a new consumer shopping habit-shift and reliance on quick commerce and delivery will continue to trend, so we’ve worked hard to ensure we bring on as many well-loved household names onto the foodpanda platform as possible,” Foodpanda CEO Jakob Angele said.

The company has also added over 2,500 7-Eleven stores on its platform earlier this month, making 7-Eleven available to its customers in Singapore and other countries.
