More consumers are shopping with a conscience, according to a survey by Zalora.
In Zalora’s latest Trender Report, 90% of consumers showed some level of interest in shopping sustainable products.
Most of the consumers showing interest in sustainable shopping came from Singapore and the Philippines.
“More crucially, shoppers want to spend their money with retailers whose brand values resonate with their personal views,” ZALORA said.
Shoppers are also willing to pay more for sustainable products, according to another survey by ZALORA. The study has revealed that more than 60% are willing to pay at least 5% more for sustainable and ethical products for fashion and beauty items.
Another survey by McKinsey has noted that most consumers who will pay more for sustainable shopping are in the younger generation with 31% from Gen Z respondents and 26% from Millennials.
